Volunteer Opportunities at the Center for Non-Profits
Help strengthen the non-profit community for all New Jerseyans by volunteering in the Center's friendly office!
The Center welcomes the assistance of volunteers, and is actively seeking assistance in our North Brunswick, NJ, office in several key areas:
- Newsletter layout: lay out articles for our bimonthly newsletter, CenterPieces, using our content and existing design template. Some knowledge of PageMaker and newsletter layout experience needed. Time commitment: up to 6 issues per year; time required per issue will depend on prior experience, but will likely decrease if you work on more than one issue, and therefore become familiar with the specifics.
- Writing newsletter articles: help us showcase our member organizations or highlight emerging non-profit issues by writing or contributing an article (or more!) for our newsletter! Some interview experience helpful. Strong writing skills needed.
- Data entry: Help keep our databases up to date, enter survey data and more. Working knowledge of a database program (preferably Microsoft Access) needed. Time commitment: flexible
- General office help: Assistance with mailings, filing, copying/collating of materials and the like. Some of this work can be done off-site. Time commitment: flexible.
- Special assignments: Lend your particular expertise to a variety of specialized initiatives: adding enhanced features and functionality to the Center’s Web site; assisting with in-depth database design and improvement; helping to plan and execute activities in relation to the Center's 25th anniversary; helping us research and analyze new programs to provide benefits to our non-profit members; and much more!

Volunteering at the Center is a great way to learn more about non-profits while helping a great cause! Volunteers must provide contact information and references. Our regular office hours are 9AM – 5PM, but in some cases, work could be done at home or via email.
