National/Out-of-State Resources About.com -- Non-profit section has info and links on various aspects of non-profit arena: grantwriting, job-seeking, volunteer oppts, salaries/benefits, discussion groups, etc.; continuously updated. Alliance for Nonprofit Management American Philanthropy Review's CharityChannel -- Web site hosting variety of non-profit discussion forums on fundraising, marketing, academic research, legal issues and more; also has booklists, consultant registers, events listings, job listings (career_search) and numerous links. Association of Fundraising Professionals (formerly the National Society of Fund Raising Executives) BoardSource (formerly National Center for Nonprofit Boards) -- National membership organization offering comprehensive support and training for non-profits and their boards of trustees; Web site includes useful Frequently Asked Questions area about board roles and responsibilities. CompassPoint Nonprofit Services The Foundation Center -- Extensive source of information on foundation and corporate giving, as well as other areas of interest to non-profits; publishes wide array of reference books, directories, analyses; web site includes electronic reference desk, online librarians, donor databases, articles, news services and more. Free Online Management Library for Nonprofits -- Hosted by the Minnesota-based Management Assistance Program for Nonprofits. Contains an extensive collection of articles and resource links on all aspects of non-profit operations - fund raising, evaluation, human resources, communications and much more. Innovation Network (InnoNet) Workstation for Non-Profits -- Offers free downloadable tools and guidance with planning, evaluation, data collection and more (registration required). Internet Nonprofit Center -- Web site includes library of publications and data on finance, volunteering and charitable giving; through "The Nonprofit FAQ," provides information on a wide range of nonprofit topics. The Management Center (California) National Center for Charitable Statistics -- National clearinghouse of data on the non-profit sector in the United States. NCCS is a program of the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy (CNP) at the Urban Institute. Nonprofit Good Practice Guide -- Run by the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Grand Valley State University in Michigan, this site contains clear explanations and links to external resources on many non-profit topics. Nonprofit Risk Management Center -- National organization that monitors, advocates and educates on liability issues for non-profits; consulting, workshops; produces a variety of publications and electronic materials on legal and insurance topics. TechSoup -- Technology information for non-profits. Amherst Wilder Foundation (Publications Catalogue Page) -- Publishes a wide variety of books (available for purchase) related to non-profit management and community development
NJ Area Resources Association of Fundraising Professionals-NJ Chapter (formerly the National Society of Fundraising Executives) Garden State Bar Association - The GSBA assists African-Americans and other minorities in becoming an effective part of the judicial system. Governor's Office of Volunteerism The Governor's Office of Volunteerism was established to support the growth and the development of volunteerism throughout the State through promotion, coordination and enhancement of citizen participation. National Executive Service Corps- New Jersey -- click on "Where we serve" then choose New Jersey; Strengthening the management of non-profit organizations, schools and government agencies through high quality, low cost consulting services. New Jersey Community Resources -- Contains links to various government and private agencies, and information regarding subjects such as how to avoid utility shut-offs and how to take advantage of the Earned Income Tax credit. New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA)– Will post requests for pro bono assistance on its Web site free of charge. Nonprofit Center at La Salle University Workshops on a host of topics held in Philadelphia. Also offers certificate programs. Nonprofit Central NY/NJ -- Online community connecting non-profits to recommended consultants in the NY/NJ metro area. Includes "ask a consultant" listserve. Partnership in Philanthropy -- Works to strengthen the fund raising capacity of non-profits. Provides workshops and consulting services to eligible organizations. Pro Bono Partnership -- Legal assistance for non-profits Seton Hall University Center for Public Service Support Center for Nonprofit Management -- Management support organization with offices in New York City and Trenton, NJ; provides workshops and consulting for non-profits.
