For 29 years, the Center has been providing leadership and services for New Jersey non-profits, and remains New Jersey's only umbrella organization for all charities in the state. Through advocacy, education, capacity building programs and member services, the Center gives non-profits the knowledge and tools they need to pursue their missions more effectively, strengthening non-profits as individual organizations and as a community.

Non-Profit Capacity Building

Non-Profit HelpDesk - Over 2,000 non-profit legal and management questions answered each year.
Legal assistance for newly forming non-profits - including alternatives to starting a new group.
Workshops/Seminars on important non-profit management topics such as boards, grantwriting and more.
Convening conferences/issue discussions about emerging trends.
Faith- and Community-Based Technical Assistance - non-profit assistance and workshops with a special sensitivity to faith- and community-based organizations.
Resource Lists: Lists of consultants and service providers in any of over 20 areas of expertise (see page 2 of this form for categories) FREE to Center members and a nominal administrative fee for non-members. To obtain listings, call or e-mail the Center, indicating the area of your interest.

Providing timely, accurate information on the non-profit topics that matter most through our Web site at www.njnonprofits.org and e-mail alerts.
Producer and exclusive source of reference books such as Hiring, Firing & Risk Management: Employment Law for New Jersey Non-Profits and Thinking of Forming a Non-Profit? What to Consider Before You Begin.
Resource library: members can consult a wide array of references from national and in-state experts at our on-site library in North Brunswick. Discounts on non-profit references from major publishers are also available through the Center.
